Baker Boutique Hotel

The Baker Hotel resonated glory and high class in the early 1900's.  Unfortunately, the Baker Hotel is currently in a state of disrepair since it has not been in use for over 50 years.

My design concept is to create a boutique hotel on the top three floors to bring back the hollywood glamour while still keeping the Texas feel.  The color palette is neutral to enhance natural woods and stones with bold pops of color to highlight the luxurious status of its original era.  Guests will feel almost famous while still having the ambience of the Texas Backwoods.

Spaces highlighted include: a 3 Meal Dining Area, the Dining Room Entrance, a Suite, a Bathroom, the roof top Terrace, and the Bell Tower.

Z's Cafe

Z's Cafe Owners Janet and Carlo recently opened a second restaurant location in the medical district of Fort Worth. The mother and son asked us to come up with designs for their new space with a few of the following items:

  • Seat at least 30 people inside the Cafe
  • Clean and Modern
  • Full of Life (Plants)
  • Keep it Colorful
  • Incorporate Local Artwork (some of which came from patients at the hospital nearby)

Smallest Swatch Shop

While studying abroad in Florence, Italy, I took a class on retail design that focused on the concept aspect of the shop. Our first assignment was to create the world's smallest shop for Swatch. It needed to be 40 cm long, wide and high.  To get an idea of how small this shop is, 40 cm is 15.7 inches. Since the shop is so small, it needed to have mobility to be picked up and placed anywhere, the streets, a countertop, etc.

My concept was to create a conveyor type watch holder that could be turned with a rotary like topper.  The base of it would be the swatch cross and the colors would remain neutral with accents of the swatch red.  The small swatch shop could hold 15+ watches and these tiny shops are stackable.  Each shop would have extendable legs similar to a tripod that could collapse into the center of the shop when not in use.
